Non-linear seismic demand analysis of battery rack assemblies

Objective:

To determine the effects of as-found gaps between batteries and their supporting rack platforms on seismic qualification of the batteries.

Solution:

ENOVA performed non-linear analysis of battery racks allowing for as-found gap conditions to determine the effects of gaps on seismic qualification of both the batteries and the supporting racks. By performing these analyses, it was demonstrated that as found gaps, did not invalidate the existing seismic qualifications by both shake table testing and analysis.
